Implementation Process

The timeframe and workload involved in implementing an ISO9001 system varies depending on the nature of the company’s operations, the size of the company, the level of existing systems etc. However, the general approach can be summarised as follows:

1. We conduct a review of the company to establish the level of existing      systems (if any).

2. The client appoints a competent person as Quality Coordinator/Management      Representative. This person will work with us throughout the implementation      process and must have the resources and capabilities to fulfil the role.

3. In conjunction with the Management Representative and other relevant      personnel, we develop and implement the management system. This is      achieved by working onsite for the required time, with the timescales being      agreed following the initial system review.

4. Once the system has been implemented and operated for a period, we      conduct a full internal audit to highlight any system deficiencies and ready      the system for a certification audit.

Throughout the implementation process, we ensure that the Management Representative has a clear understanding of the quality system so that when we finish the project, the Management Representative will be in a position manage the system themselves.

Implementation timescales vary from company to company but to give an idea, the successful implementation of an ISO9001 system in an engineering company of 10 employees could be achieved with approximately 10 days of the consultant’s time on-site spread over a period of 6 months.
